About

Songwriting has always given Drew Jenkinson a great sense of freedom. He was only five years old when he first picked up a guitar. To him, the guitar represented stardom, magic, and all that is extraordinary. With this in mind, Drew never missed an opportunity to expose others to his star qualities. Unfortunately, Drew did not have many star qualities. In fact, he did not even know to play a guitar. It would take years before he would meet Michael Cammarata, a secondary school classmate, and finally embark on his musical journey.

Talented and musically inclined, Michael taught Drew a few basic chords on the guitar. His friendship with Michael recharged Drew’s passion for music and lyrical expression. It was this shared passion that brought them together to form a high school rock band. Joining up with two other classmates, Adam Scott and Robert Shropshire, the group collectively called themselves “Rosslyn.”

As the quartet matured, they began to create original material. Drew and Michael were the first to form a solid songwriting partnership, and Robert soon followed. Songwriting was an outlet for him to express his ideas and feelings. The group parted in 2008 after all of the members graduated high school and embarked on their individual journeys.

Drew is now studying Communication at Virginia Tech. His passion for music and songwriting are more vibrant than ever before. Since high school, he has written and recorded twenty-three original songs. Each song acts as track mark of his past. They document the development of his life. He finds freedom in using music as a canvas for his thoughts and feelings.
