7700J- A Tragedy
This short film was made as an open letter to a bunch of my friends who are currently studying abroad in Switzerland. In order to understand some of the humor, you have to know a few things about the people who are mentioned. The first of our friends that is mentioned is Molly. Molly is one of my roommate’s girlfriends. He is also studying abroad with her. This is why it is funny that my roommate, Matt B., is drooling over her and suffering from her absence. The other person mentioned is my room mate Scott. His room has since been occupied by another friend, Matt D.; he is featured in the first part of the film. Scott is an avid gamer and skateboarder. Ray sings “I Don’t Care About You”
During the Fall of 2009, I spent a solid two months recording my latest EP, “The Good Life.” I recorded and produced all of the songs in my apartment. One of the songs that I recorded became embedded in my roommate’s head. He sang the chorus all the time around the apartment. Finally, we decided to make a video of my playing guitar and him trying to sing the song. He didn’t know all of the words, but it was still fun! Post a comment on the video!
Ray’s Rap
Okay. I use Ray in a lot of my videos. He is a very quirky guy and provides a great amount of comedic relief for the world. A long time ago, we recorded an improvised rap using Apple’s Garageband and the built-in microphone. That is it. My friend, Alex, provided the beat in the back while I provided the bass line. Ray clearly spoke his mind on this one-take improvised rap. The video was created later that year, in the Summer. We were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC and decided to make movie magic. This is what came of it.
